Condi vs. power: the moment a cleanse support joins a team, condi damage becomes extremely underwhelming, because one cleanse has the potential of cleansing the damage of multiple enemies, as a cleanse cleanses a whole stack. I avoid running condi builds in team fights. The damage is too situational and too unreliable.
Here's a link to the different types of accounts and their restrictions and benefits. Basically, your wife can't leave the starter area until 10, and can't enter Lion's Arch until 35. Your wife cannot send you any items or gold. Your communication will be entirely through whispers as friends, if not IRL. She can't enter LFG until 30, she can't
GW had two massive opportunities to pull a (few) Factions-style rapid-onboard 1-79 zones with EoD and now SOTO, and elected to miss them. Sad, tbh, because "going through core tyria is a slog" is the #1 complaint I get from friends that try the game, which then evolves into "HoT is unplayable, everything kills me".
Guild Wars 2 kinda could not be named Guild Wars 2 as well. What I mean is that aside from branding, GW2 is different from Guild Wars 1 that Anet could have branded the game differently and it would have worked perfectly sans marketing. There are few design elements of the original Guild Wars left in Guild Wars 2.
The gameplay is fundamentally different between the two games, so a direct comparison isn't really possible. GW1 was a tactical game about timing, position and building your skill deck to counter the enemy; gw2 is much more of an action/reflex game. AEFA.9035
GW2 is generally less punitive about its inventory management than ESO is for non-subscribers. Bag space is an issue starting out, but everyone gets a (lesser) version of ESO's Crafting Bag which helps a lot. ESO charges a subscription fee to make most of your inventory problems go away.
what DID make a huge difference was buying 2 exotic earrings, 2 exotic rings, and exotic amulet and backpieces. right now there are probably empty slots there because the base game's quest doesn't hand it to you. go to the trading post and click on the Filter gear icon, then select the accessories tab and filter for the stats you want at lvl 80.
Posted December 24, 2023. Gw2 is it’s own game. Guild Wars 1 is (or rather should be) the best model for it. Card Games are also a good model as that’s what GW1 was based on. If talking about game modes; Hall of Heroes, GvG, and hell just player generated rules would be a good jump off point. Fun fact, gw2 tried dota, and it failed hard for
